Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt recently showered heartfelt praise on Anupam Kher, not just for his acting, but for his dedication to mentoring young talent at his acting school, Actor Prepares, in Mumbai.

Bhatt also mentioned his commitment to supporting the budding actors at Actor Prepares. “Every year, whether they invite me or not, I will come here and help these students find their hidden talent,” he added, highlighting his excitement for the new crop of performers.

He singled out the film’s lead actress, Shubhangi Dutt, who has been trained at Actor Prepares, for her surprising and powerful performance.

Anupam Kher, in turn, shared the personal story behind his decision to open the acting school 20 years ago. He recalled an incident during a film shoot that stayed with him.

“There was this beautiful young girl whose scene was to step out of a swimming pool, come to me, and deliver a dialogue. She did everything perfectly until it came time to speak. Her lips started trembling, and she became nervous. That moment stuck with me because beauty alone isn’t enough, confidence is key. That day, I decided to open an acting school to help people overcome fear,” Kher explained.

Actor Prepares has now launched a new one-year diploma course in acting, and Kher expressed his gratitude to Bhatt for conducting special classes for the students. “We are thankful to Bhatt sahab for guiding our students personally,” Kher said.

The recent Mumbai premiere of ‘Tanvi The Great’ was another proud moment for Kher. Held at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, the event was graced by the real-life Tanvi, the inspiration behind the film, who attended as the ‘Guest of Honour’.

Adding a personal touch, Anupam Kher’s niece, also named Tanvi, was part of the event, making it even more special.

The premiere hosted several well-known personalities including Kirron Kher, Sikandar Kher, Annu Kapoor, and filmmaker Rumy Jafry, alongside the cast of the film.
